- Full Review: If you are an undergrad student in any part of the US, you have heard about the “value” of an internship in your field. You’ve probably heard horror stories about an Ivy League student-turned-coffee boy for a large financial firm. Or, there are always the stories of those who undergo the unfortunate task of interning for a design diva, a la “The Devil Wears Prada.” All of this for little or no pay. So, why do it? Good question. It looks great on a resume, the experience is priceless, it gets your foot in the door, etc. At the same time, though, it IS a good chunk of your university experience, and you do pay tuition for it. Choose wisely. That being said, please read further to see the awesomeness that we like to call “Revolucion” and how you can be part of it.
I swear to you, my fellow debt-ridden undergrad students, that working at Revolucion is what you want out of an internship. Surrounded by the most creative and outgoing individuals is truly inspiring. My superiors (which is everyone, I assume) do not act like they are at the top of the totem pole. They engage you fully in whatever account or campaign we may be working on at the moment, and actually (gasp!) assign tasks that you will ultimately be accountable for. In my specific position, I work among the lovely ladies in accounting services and I do competitive tracking, market research, and whatever else may come up on the agenda.
There is a certain way to measure success, in my eyes. I want to work in a job where I feel my talents are appreciated and where I am allowed to be creative. I want to laugh and be sarcastic and blare my music if I feel I need to at that moment. The team at Revolucion is exactly this: they’ve shown me that I do not have to hate my job. Hell, I can even love my job!
Huge corporation and identification badges are overrated, folks. It is not the size of the firm; it is the ideas that come out of it. Revolucion lives up to its name. If you want a truly legitimate New York internship with real people who you can truly respect, please apply for this position.

- Compensation: None
- Responsibilities: • Contributed to competitive reports and market analysis for various clients
• Conducted research for the planning and execution of several marketing campaigns
• Attended meetings with clients and potential partner organizations
• Transcribed and translated Spanish/English material
- Environment: Extremely enjoyable! I worked under the direction of several talented executives who took the time to teach me, not just order me around. They became my mentors, and by the end it felt more like family.
- Interview: I first came across REVOLUCION when I was researching the best Hispanic marketing agencies in the nation. Because I immediately felt a connection upon visiting their website, I contacted one of the partners via email and after sending my resume, a cover letter, and writing samples for their review, I had a telephone interview with someone in account planning.

- Full Review: From day one I felt very welcome at REVOLUCION. Everyone was very accommodating, but they kept me busy as well. I asked to intern in account planning, but it was soon clear that I could express interest in other areas and learn about them as well. I was always briefed on the whole campaign or project when given an assignment, that way I could keep the big picture in mind while I carried out the requested research. This also made it easier for me to make my own contributions and I was included in every step of the process. I was able to see some projects through to completion, which gave me a profound sense of accomplishment. I was allowed to attend meetings with clients whenever relevant, and I even attended meetings regarding potential collaborations. I was treated like any other member of the team, they encouraged me to speak my mind, and everyone was friendly and willing to help. This is not the type of internship where you file papers, make copies, and bring coffee. (Unless of course, you are going down to Starbucks. Then it’s polite to offer, right?) By the end of my 10-week internship, I felt I had a very good understanding of the inner workings of a New York City marketing agency. I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the industry.

I did my research and at first, after reading all the reviews I thought it was too good to be true! However, the reviews were completely true! Interns are able to learn so much and be so hands on with many of the accounts at REVOLUCION, something that other companies/agencies do not allow their interns to do. I am extremely grateful for the opportunities I was given at REVOLUCION and really miss everyone at the office!
The workload is not something you can't handle as an intern, and they're very understanding of your class schedule and availability. I would recommend this internship to those who are passionate about the advertising field and are willing to learn about such an amazing career.
I've heard stories of other internships where interns completely spend their hours stapling papers and going down the street to get coffee, but at REVOLUCION you become part of the staff, you enjoy what you're doing, and at the same time experience what it is like to be in the Marketing/Advertising field.
Gracias REVOLUCION !
